Custom Hedgehog House with built in camera triggers and motion detection!

Some exciting news!

Steven Robertson from Wilderhood Watch in St Albans has been busy making us a custom external hog house with a built in camera setup that has automated triggers :)

Steven contacted us late last year and I saw his work building other similar hog houses on his website. I mentioned that we'd be very interested in one for releases of hogs back in to the wild so we can capture their activity in the wild from release day. This will be very interesting and help us study their routines and activities once released after rehabilitation.

Steven has very kindly been making one of these custom hog houses for us and recently sent over some updates on the progress! A huge thank you to Steven for working on this project for the hedgehogs :D It looks very complicated!

It is important to note that the photos you see of hedgehogs on this website are taken while a hedgehog is in rehabilitation and DO NOT reflect the natural habit of a wild hedgehog. They are nocturnal.
